A Great Night

Last night Neil I enjoyed dinner out without little people (also referred to as Date Night!), followed by attending a FANTASTIC concert by Seven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith. It was dubbed "The United Tour", as it was the first time these amazing Christian artists had joined together in such a fashion.

The venue was sold out and the energy was incredible! I always enjoy Christian Concerts so much more than *secular* concerts as with Christian Concerts the audience is draw into the performances, almost like you are singing along with old friends. I guess it is more about the worship than the performance, if that makes any sense.

This concert also had a message that SCC & MWS wanted to get out to the audience. It was the message about what we can all do to make a difference in the life of an orphan. Whether it be to adopt or to sponsor an orphan, the message was loud and clear...let's help! It was very cool to see people looking for information on adoption or seeing how they can help another family in their quest to adopt by visiting the Shaohannah's Hope table (who also had representatives from America World Adoption - AWAA on hand) or by seeing people signing up to sponsor orphans at the Compassion table, it was awesome sight to behold!

Shaohannah's Hope handed out info and fortune cookies. I didn't open the fortune cookies until today when Livie saw them and asked to eat them (she is the only one in our family who actually likes these!). Once opened I noticed that instead of stale Chinese proverbs these were filled with messages meant to inspire our hearts to adopt. Very cool.

What a wonderful evening! I need a date night!
By the way, I have the utmost respect for Steven Curtis Chapman and think he is a great role model and example. Kerri has a few of his books :o)

There is only one word to sum up the concert....WOW! We got to go out with some friends (double date :o) )
and had dinner and went to the SCC/MWS concert here in Atlanta. It was awesome! I'm so glad that we got to go.

BTW: I did get our CD from Larry. Thanks SO much for helping me get in contact with him.

Mary,

Glad you had a good time at the concert. I took my daughter to his concert in May when he was in Ocala. I recalled all of his "old" songs he sang that night because I have been listening to him since his beginning. My friend went to the United concert in St. Augustine this past weekend and had been invited there to work a booth for Shohannah's Hope. Their son lives in Korea and had received a grant for a Russian adoption.

I am so wanting to go to the United concert as I like Michael W. Smith too. I couldn't make it Saturday night because we had something else already planned.
